Traditional poetry and music go through a creative grinder in this polemic work of musicians Hallveig Rúnarsdóttir, Erpur Eyvindarson, Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson and Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason
„No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have researched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.“
H.L. Mencken – Notes on Journalism, Chicago Tribune 19th September 1926
Religion, Philosophy and the Arts have through the millennia dealt with mankind‘s „Evil Inclination“ and the inherent tendency to repeat the mistakes of earlier generations. We delve into history, the theories of thinkers such as Freud, Arthur Koestler and others who have researched this aberration and we look at literary lamentations, sad songs from different traditions, cynical lyrics and how we have sometimes seen a glimmer of hope. Is biology destiny, is there a ghost in the machine or are we about to migrate into space? Traditional poetry and music will be subverted: the classical approach transformed and twisted by various inventive means.
Can we be saved?
Performers: Hallveig Rúnarsdóttir, Erpur Eyvindarson, Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson, Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason and more.
